Description
Kick tails and mounting plates now available!
This translucent gray flat top kick tail with a 33.25 degree ramp creates a solid connection for your foot to your surfboard so when executing a powerful snap or carve, it’s much easier to do without falling. The ramp is angled to make it easy to push against the tail of your board without having to bend your ankle when surfing with a basic stance, and minimal ankle bending for maneuvers that require a lower stance with your back knee closer to the board.
Beginning surfers will immediately appreciate having a more defined point of reference for their rear foot. This vertical rise kicktail is easy to feel under your feet when dropping into a steep wave. Intermediate and pro surfers will be able to push harder against their tail without falling and pull off much more aggressive maneuvers with the confidence of knowing their back foot is secure.
Translucent gray gives your board a super cool futuristic look. Light passes through it so in sunlight you get many different, interesting looks. This translucent kick tail can be lighted up by placing removable LED lights (available at our online shop) inside the kick tail before mounting onto your surfboard. A great option for night surfing at your favorite wave pool!
This kicktail is interchangeable with any other RIKT kick tail. Shown with and without optional RIKT front pad. All RIKT kick tails work great with wax for grip. We think a RIKT and wax grips as good or better than an EVA foam traction pad. If you’re taking full advantage of the power of your RIKT, as soon as you pop up, your back foot is going to be on the ramp, not on the deck of your surfboard, so you don’t need a traction pad. Our recommendation is to try a RIKT using wax for grip first, and then if you still feel you need a pad, spring for our front pad. Our bet is that most of you will find that surfing barefoot or with booties, wax and a RIKT get the job done, and you’ll be saving money.
This kick tail requires a RIKT mounting plate and mounting screws.
Note: Keep shins and ankles away from kick tail when paddling, duck diving or hopping up to catch a wave.
